Feed The Hungry giving away 1,000 free meals, groceries and health screenings Saturday

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Feed The Hungry is preparing to serve hundreds of families during a free community food giveaway this weekend in Savannah.

The organization’s “Feed Our City Food Giveaway” is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, at 1 p.m. at the Empowerment Center on Augusta Road.

Organizers say the drive-through event will distribute 1,000 prepared to-go meal plates along with bags of groceries while supplies last.

The giveaway will use a contactless drive-through model designed to provide quick and safe service for attendees.

In addition to food distribution, free health screenings will also be available on-site.

The event is free and open to the public.
