Engines, impact and family fun, Caring Hearts car show returns to Ridgeland
RIDGELAND, Sc. (WTOC) - A day of horsepower and heart is returning to the Lowcountry.
Caring Hearts of South Carolina is gearing up for its 4th Annual Car Show and Touch a Truck event on Saturday, May 2, bringing together cars, community and a cause.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ridgeland High School, located at 250 Jaguar Trail in Ridgeland, South Carolina.
Organizers say the event is about more than cars, supporting families facing serious illness by granting wishes and meeting needs, especially for children and seniors. Last year, it drew more than 150 entries, including first responder vehicles, along with food trucks and vendors.
This year’s event will feature returning guest “Horny Mike” from the History Channel’s Counting Cars, along with music from DJ Jeff “T-Bone” Taylor of 104.9 The Surf.
Families can also look forward to the Touch a Truck experience, giving kids the chance to explore, climb and interact with a variety of vehicles, including fire trucks, police cars, construction equipment and more. Children will also have the opportunity to meet the people who help protect and serve their communities.
The event is free for spectators, with donations welcomed to support the nonprofit’s mission.
