Effingham County crash leaves one person dead
EDEN, Ga. (WTOC) - Authorities have reopened a stretch of Highway 80 following a fatal motorcycle crash near Pine Street in Eden, according to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said all lanes of Highway 80 in the area were shut down for several hours as emergency crews responded to the crash involving a motorcycle. Motorists were advised to seek alternate routes while the scene was cleared and investigators worked to determine the cause of the incident.
The roadway has since reopened to traffic.
Officials said additional details about the crash will be released after the Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit completes its investigation and next of kin for the deceased has been notified.
