EOA offering on-site energy assistance at Bloomingdale City Hall until 3 p.m.
BLOOMINGDALE, Ga. (WTOC) - Bloomingdale residents in need of help with their utility bills can receive assistance today at Bloomingdale City Hall.
The Economic Opportunity Authority is hosting an on-site energy assistance event where qualifying residents may be approved and receive assistance the same day. The event runs until 3 p.m.
Eligibility requirements
To qualify, a household’s annual income must meet the Fiscal Year 2026 Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, eligibility guidelines.
Documents required
Applicants must bring:
- A current heating bill. Both electric and gas bills are required unless the home is fully electric.
- Social Security cards for every member of the household.
- A photo ID, such as a driver’s license or state-issued ID, even if expired.
- Proof of income for the last 30 days for each adult household member.
Acceptable proof of income includes a 2026 Social Security award letter, paycheck stubs, a public assistance award letter or unemployment benefits documentation for applicable household members.
Residents are encouraged to arrive before the 3 p.m. deadline and ensure all required documents are ready to avoid delays.
