by WTOC Staff

NASHVILLE, TN. (WTOC) - Dolly Parton marked her 80th birthday Sunday by releasing a new version of her 1977 single “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” to benefit pediatric cancer research.

The updated song features Queen Latifah, Miley Cyrus, and other artists. Proceeds from the single and its accompanying music video will go to a children’s hospital in Nashville to support pediatric cancer research.

Happy birthday, Dolly!

Parton’s original “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” was released in 1977. The new collaboration brings together multiple generations of performers for the charitable cause.

According to Parton’s website, the song carries a message of hope and love. The music video is also available alongside the single release.

The country music legend chose to spend her milestone birthday giving back to children facing cancer treatment rather than focusing on personal celebrations.
