Detectives say Sugar Mill Drive shooting “not random,” search for suspect continues

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - The Chatham County Police Department is continuing to investigate a shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon, according to a press release WTOC just received.

On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., officials say a shooting victim arrived by private vehicle at a local hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Chatham County Police Department Criminal Investigative Division detectives confirmed that the shooting happened in the 200 block of Sugar Mill Drive.

The CCSO says detectives do not believe that this was a random event. The search for the suspect is continuing.
