Dave Turley’s First Alert Weather forecast for Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025
High pressure will influence our weather today. Highs will reach the low to mid 90s with feels like temps into the low 100s. Our average high is 85. Scattered showers and storms develop late afternoon through the evening. A cold front moves in Friday into Saturday with a much better chance for showers and storms. The weekend will see a slightly better rain chance Saturday than Sunday with seasonable temps. The front should stall just to our east into next week. The forecast for next week is highly uncertain right now. It all depends on where Invest 94L decides to go. Right now computer models have shifted dramatically further west and some bring it inland over South Carolina and linger it over our area into Wednesday. We have made Monday and Tuesday First Alert WX Days due to this potential. We’ll see if this trend continues but changes are possible so make sure to get daily updates.

Coastal Waters Forecast: Today: SW winds at 10 kt becoming S late. Seas: 2-3 ft. Tonight: S winds at 10-15 kt with gusts to 20 kt. Seas: 3-4 ft.
Tropical Weather Outlook: Hurricane Gabrielle is located over the central subtropical Atlantic. Gabrielle is forecast to slowly weaken and move towards the coast of Portugal this weekend. Tropical Storm Humberto is located several hundred miles northeast of the Leeward Islands. This system will move in between North Carolina and Bermuda Tuesday as a hurricane. Humberto is no threat to the us BUT will play a big factor in what happens with Invest 94L. A tropical wave(Invest 94L) located over the Dominican Republic is producing disorganized showers and storms. There is a 90% chance for tropical development as the system moves towards the Bahamas over the next 7 days. Most computer develop this system into a hurricane. The trend has been shifting westward with some moving it inland over South Carolina but it’s too early to say for certain where it will go so make sure to get daily updates.
