Crush Reloaded 2026: What to know before heading to Tybee Island this weekend

TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) -Spring breakers are heading back to Tybee Island this weekend for “Crush Reloaded,” marking the second year that Orange Crush will return as a permitted event.

“Our primary concern is public safety,” said Brian West, mayor of Tybee Island.

City leaders say they are working with this year’s organizers to plan a safe and enjoyable event for both visitors and residents.

Part of that plan includes traffic changes across the island.

“We will have the center lane blocked. It’ll have cones and it’ll be blocked off for emergency vehicles,” West said.

With tens of thousands expected to visit Tybee this weekend, officials are urging residents, employees and visitors to plan ahead.

“Working towards midday Saturday and later in the day, it might become more difficult,” West said.

This year, the city is adding parking options along Butler Avenue and dedicating a specific lot for employees.

Local businesses, including Farace’s Finest, are preparing for the influx.

“Last year, we really had a great experience,” said Steve Farace, owner of Farace’s Finest.

The restaurant, which opened on Tybee’s south end last year, says Orange Crush brought strong business and a positive atmosphere.

“We had heard the stories from years past, but it was our first year. So, we went into it with an open mind and we really had a nice day,” Farace said.
