City of Savannah hosts Kwanzaa Krawl through January 1

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Savannah is hosting its annual Kwanzaa Krawl from December 26 through January 1, featuring nightly celebrations at different local restaurants and establishments.

Alderwoman At Large Alicia Miller Blakely is continuing the tradition that began under former Alderwoman Kesha Gibson Carter. Each evening starting at 6:00 p.m., the community can visit different restaurants or delis to enjoy food, culture, and fellowship under Kwanzaa traditions.

Kwanzaa Krawl schedule

The Kwanzaa Krawl schedule includes:

  • December 26: Henry Street Bistro
  • December 27: Island Breeze
  • December 28: Geechee Girl Apothecary
  • December 29: Kool Vibes
  • December 30: Ms. Polly
  • December 31: Kim’s Cafe
  • January 1: Unforgettable

The event will feature speakers and cultural presenters each evening, ranging from Youth to Elders. Each location will feature principal presenters focusing on one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa, and all are welcome to participate.
