Chabad of Savannah to host Chanukah in the Park Sunday
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) -Chabad of Savannah will host “Chanukkah in the Park” at Forsyth Park this Sunday as the 8-day celebration of Hanukkah begins.
The free community celebration will include food, crafts and inflatables. The festivities will kick off Sunday at 3 p.m.
Rabbi Zalman Refson with Chabad of Savannah said he hopes people in attendance, Jewish or not, will take away the true meaning of the holiday, which is overcoming darkness.
“Hanukkah reminds us that although we sometimes look at all the news cycles and see the darkness and challenges around the world, Hanukkah recalls that today, thank God, we’re living in an environment where all traditions and all cultures are free to express their traditions,” Refson said.
