Causes of death revealed for husband, wife found in home off Goshen Road

RINCON, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 4:10 p.m. 12/18/2025] The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the incident which left two people dead in a residence on Goshen Road was a murder-suicide between a husband and a wife.

According to the police report, the woman was the victim.

[ORIGINAL STORY] WTOC has learned of a police presence on Goshen Road in Effingham County.

After speaking with the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, we can confirm that an investigation is underway after two people were found dead.

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office has also confirmed to WTOC that the incident was a double shooting which occurred at a residence.
