Captain Theron Darieng Sr., Pillar of Richmond Hill community passes away
RICHMOND HILL, Ga. (WTOC) - Captain Theron Darieng Sr., a pillar of the Richmond Hill community, has passed away.
The City of Richmond Hill took to social media Sunday morning to share the news of his passing.

Captain Darieng was instrumental in the incorporation of Richmond Hill in 1962. He went on to serve as a volunteer firefighter for nearly 40 years, earning the rank of Captain. The city says his commitment to public service continued as a member of City Council from 1973 to 1990.
The city went on to say:
Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of serving alongside him. His legacy of service, leadership, and love for Richmond Hill will never be forgotten.
