Candler County deputies investigate second church burglary in a week
CANDLER COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Candler County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a burglary at a church on Salem Crunch Road.
Salem Baptist Church was targeted Tuesday, making it the second church in seven days to be the subject of a burglary attempt.
“A place of worship should never be the target of a crime in any community, especially ours,” the department said in a social media post.
The Candler County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have noticed suspicious vehicles or persons in the area to contact investigators. They’re also asking residents to check home security cameras for any relevant footage.
