Candidate for governor Olu Brown visits Savannah business

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - One of the democratic candidates for Georgia governor made a visit to Savannah, Friday.

Olu Brown met with customers and business owners at Raw Image barbershop and salon on East Montgomery Cross Road. The stop is part of his listening tour that is crisscrossing Georgia.

He says voters are concerned about education, healthcare and fighting for small businesses.

“We got to fight for small business ownership to make sure they are resourced with technical assistants, capital, and all of the things they need,” said Brown.

Brown is originally from Texas. He is now a pastor at Impact Church in East Point, just outside of Atlanta.

He is one of several democratic candidates running for Governor. Other candidates include former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, former Georgia Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond and current state Senator Jason Esteves.

On the Republican ticket, candidates for Georgia governor include Attorney General Chris Carr and Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones.
