Businesses in Bulloch County brace for cold temperatures, welcome guests to warm environments
STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) - Some businesses in Statesboro braced for the cold, wintry mix despite temperatures that felt around 10 degrees starting on Saturday afternoon.
Gnats Landing Bar and Grill in Statesboro was one of the businesses that kept its doors during Saturday’s snowfall, welcoming guests with their big jackets, gloves, and hats.
Server Ethan King said he was shocked to see the snow fall again, as this is his second year working at the bar and grill on South Main Street.
“I really didn’t think snow was coming, you know? You’re in Statesboro, Georgia. You’re an hour from the beach, and then the next thing you know, the snow is here. Icy roads, but I love it. I love seeing snow, you don’t get to see it here often.”
The restaurant is expected to be open on Sunday as well.
Road conditions were expected to worsen in Statesboro and throughout Bulloch County. The sheriff’s office posted online updates advising people to stay home if they did not need to hit the roads.
