Burton man charged with attempted murder after shooting at teenager

BURTON, S.C. (WTOC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 21-year-old Burton man for attempted murder in connection with a shooting that occurred on Charity Drive Wednesday afternoon.

Neaemiah Nasir Silas Green-Rogers was arrested Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation into the February 18, 2026, shooting. Deputies also recovered the gun believed to be used in the shooting during a search warrant execution.

Deputies responded to a residence on Charity Drive shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a report of a shooting that had just occurred. The investigation revealed that Green-Rogers shot at a 17-year-old male victim, according to the sheriff’s office.

The victim was not injured and was able to run inside the residence. Additional shots were fired at the residence while the victim retreated.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Green-Rogers for attempted murder. The incident is still being actively investigated.
