Brunswick adds new signage to preserve historic cemeteries
BRUNSWICK, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Brunswick has completed new signage improvements at Greenwood and Palmetto cemeteries as part of efforts to preserve historic spaces.
Officials say decorative wrought iron signs were installed at both locations to improve visibility and reflect the historical significance of each site.
The upgrades were funded through Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or SPLOST, and are part of ongoing maintenance and beautification efforts.
City leaders say regular upkeep will continue through a mix of contracted services and support from the Public Works Department, including mowing, repairs and preservation work.
The improvements are part of a broader effort to maintain public spaces and protect Brunswick’s historic landmarks.
