Bluffton Fire District responds to apartment fire

BLUFFTON, S.C. (WTOC) - Bluffton Fire District crews are currently responding to a reported fire at NextLoft Apartments, according to the Bluffton Township Fire District.

Officials ask for locals to please avoid the area and expect a heavy first responder presence, including fire apparatus and emergency vehicles.

“We appreciate the public’s patience as crews work the incident,” Bluffton Fire District says. “Updates will be shared as appropriate.”

WTOC spoke with Stephen Combs, the public information officer for Bluffton Fire District, who says the fire is now out.

The flames were contained to a single unit, Combs says, and crews are still on the scene to make sure the fire is completely extinguished and did not spread.
