Beaufort Memorial tops off new Bluffton Community Hospital
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Beaufort Memorial Bluffton community hospital is one step closer to opening.
Medical staff, board members, and construction crews gathered this afternoon to celebrate the topping off ceremony, all signing the last beam to be installed on the structure.
The 28- bed hospital will have three floors, and will be a much- needed addition to the Bluffton area.
“Today’s about the next step in the Bluffton Community Hospital,” said Russell Baxley, President/CEO of Beaufort Memorial. “This is the “topping out” ceremony where we put the last steel beam on the structural foundation of the new hospital here in Bluffton. The community deserves accessible healthcare, and that’s part of what we are trying to do here - is meet people where they are, committed to that accessible sort of mission.”
Work on the new facility began in February, and it is set to be complete by 2026 - seeing patients the year after.
