Beaufort Co. law firm confirms more lawsuits against business following mass shooting

ST. HELENA ISLAND, S.C. (WTOC) - Morgan and Morgan Law Firm confirmed to WTOC that three more lawsuits have been filed against Willie Turral Food Services, LLC on behalf of victims of the mass shooting at Willie’s Bar and Grill in St. Helena Island last fall.

This brings the total number of lawsuits against this business to five. Below are two other suits filed against Willie’s Bar and Grill in reference to the same incident.

On October 11, 2025, Anferny Freeman was seen entering Willie’s Bar and Grill while armed with a firearm. The lawsuits accused Willie’s Bar and Grill of serving Freeman an excessive amount of alcohol. The lawsuit further stated that this overserving contributed to Freeman opening fire, killing four people, and wounding several others.

The plaintiffs in the cases filed their grievances on March 4, including a victim who was shot three times in the chest, a victim shot in the jaw, and an individual who was trampled in the frantic stampede that followed the first shots.
