SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Memorial Health invited the Banana Ball Championship League to visit newborns in the hospital on National Banana Day.

24 players and coaches stopped room by room, autographing baseballs and creating lasting memories for each brand-new family.

Banana Ball assistant coach Bryce Stober told WTOC that days like this are a blessing.

“This is super special for us to be here with little baby Haze who was just born about two hours ago here on Banana Day and it’s so special to have so many guys from the organization here to be with this little light who came into the world,” Stober said.

New mom Courtney Walters said the visit was exciting.

“It’s exciting, we can look back, I can tell him when he’s older that he had all these fans come by on Banana Day,” Walters said.

Players ended their visit by stopping by the NICU, brightening the day for the tiniest babies and their parents.
