BCSO arrests one in Burton shooting investigation

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office says they have one person in custody following an early morning shooting in Burton.

Early Friday morning, deputies say they received a call regarding a gunshot victim at Magnolia Park Apartments in Burton.

While heading to the scene, deputies say they received word that individuals involved had left the area in a vehicle to possibly seek medical attention.

Deputies made contact with the vehicle on Trask Parkway.

After pulling over, investigators say the driver fled, leaving the victim in the vehicle.

Deputies made contact with the female victim in the car, who was suffering from a gunshot wound, and provided medical assistance until Beaufort County EMS arrived to transport her.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office says that the suspect was located shortly after on a nearby property and taken into custody with no further incident.

This case is still under investigation, but investigators say it appears to be a domestic incident.
