Arrest made in connection to shooting on Louisville Rd.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Savannah Police has made an arrest in connection to a shooting on Friday.

According to police, officers responded to a ShotSpotter call in the 1000 block of Louisville Road just before 6 p.m. Friday.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered an adult male leaving the area. Alvin DuBois had a minor graze wound to his arm and denied knowing who shot him. DuBois was given treatment by EMS but refused to be transported to the hospital.

Witnesses reported seeing DuBois assaulting a female, who then fired a weapon to stop the attack. The female victim called in to 9-1-1 and reported the incident. Upon further investigation, the female and DuBois were in a previous relationship, and the shooting was found to be in self-defense.

DuBois was arrested and charged with battery.

This investigation is ongoing.
