HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (WTOC) — More than 650 cyclists took to the roads of Hilton Head Island this weekend for the annual Pedal Hilton Head Island charity ride, raising approximately $100,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office led riders across the island for the event, which has become one of the region’s marquee fundraising rides.

Since its inception eight years ago, the event has generated nearly $1 million for the nonprofit organization, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol assisted with traffic safety throughout the ride.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry serves youth across the region, providing after-school and summer programs focused on academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character development.

Organizers thanked riders, volunteers, and community supporters for making the event possible.
