50-year-old Bluffton woman dies after stabbing incident at Vista View apartments, son in custody

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - One woman is dead and her son is in custody after a stabbing incident Tuesday afternoon.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said they are investigating a domestic-related homicide at an apartment complex in Bluffton.

Deputies were called to Vista View Apartments shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a report of a domestic incident in progress.

When deputies arrived, they found a 50-year-old woman suffering from stab wounds. Despite lifesaving efforts, she died from her injuries.

The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as Elisa Palacios. The coroner’s office said Palacios died at around 2:43 p.m. from stabbing injuries.

21-year-old son charged with murder

21-year-old Bryan Stacey Palacios is in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center following the stabbing incident. Bryan Palacios is the victim’s son, confirmed the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

Bryan Palacios has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Law enforcement said Bryan Palacios was also injured during the incident and was taken to a hospital for treatment before being taken into custody.
