42-year-old wounded in St. Helena shooting, BCSO investigating

ST. HELENA ISLAND, S.C. (WTOC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left a 42-year-old man wounded Wednesday night on St. Helena Island.

Deputies responded to reports of a gunshot victim in the area of Lands End Road shortly after 8:40 p.m. yesterday, December 17, 2025, according to a media release from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived, they found the male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services transported the man for treatment of his injuries.

Officials say the circumstances that led to the shooting remain under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the lead investigator, Sergeant Lidey, at 843-255-3294.
