3 arrested in connection to recent burglaries in Beaufort County
BEUAFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office arrested 3 teenage males in connection to multiple recent burglaries Tuesday.
An investigation into multiple incidents in the areas of Hilton Head, Bluffton and possibly other areas resulted in the arrest of Pape Niang, 17, Cheikh Niang, 19, and Mohamed Mbengue, 18, all of Jasper County.
The sheriff’s office says the investigation revealed that the group were targeting Hispanic restaurants.
3 known locations are Santa Fe Café, Carlitos, and Fiesta Fresh, but investigators are looking into several other recent burglaries.
All three were arrested and charged with Burglary 2ND degree (Violent), petty theft, and Cheikh Niang received an additional charge of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
All of them were charged as adults and transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center.
The sheriff’s office thanked Hardeeville Police Department and Bluffton Police Department for their assistance with these cases. All three agencies have ongoing investigations, and further charges are pending the conclusion of those investigations.
