2 teens arrested for murder in W. 57th St. homicide
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Two teenagers have been arrested in connection to a homicide that happened in the 700 block of West 57th Street on Sept. 18, 2025.

18-year-old Marcus Jamal Thomas Jr. was arrested by U.S. Marshals on Nov. 12.

He is being charged with murder, conspiracy to commit a felony- armed robbery, and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony.
Thomas Jr. is being held without bond at the Chatham County Jail.
Another teenager was arrested Thursday night in the case.
18-year-old Caesar Bernard Thompkins Jr. turned himself in to U.S. Marshals and charged with murder and conspiracy to commit a felony.

On Sept. 18 at about 3:36 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found an unresponsive juvenile inside a home with a gunshot wound.
Officers conducted a traffic stop at W. 63rd St. and Montgomery St. on a car leaving the scene. Thomas, who had non-life threatening injuries, was found in the car. Thomas and the juvenile were taken to the hospital where the juvenile died from their injuries.
The Savannah Police Department is continuing to investigate.
