2 sentenced, 1 acquitted in 2023 killing behind Hinesville Walmart
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - A family finally has some sense of closure— all 3 suspects tied to their loved one’s murder now know their fate.
It was a case that garnered a lot of attention, as a 20-year-old was tragically found shot to death behind a Walmart in Hinesville.
Two men and one woman were all charged with the death of 20-year-old Jaylin Ferrell, but only two people will face prison time.

Their case has been going through the system, and now all three suspects know their fate.
21-year-old Jalijah Pittman, 20-year-old Jaquaves Pittman, and 20-year-old Sirenity Hagan were all arrested back in October of 2023.

They were each originally facing charges of malice murder, 2 counts of felony murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
In September 2023, police found Jaylin shot to death when they got to the scene. The 20-year-old was found between the loading dock of the Walmart Supercenter and Liberty Woods Apartments, off Oglethorpe Highway.

A month and a half later, police arrested the trio. The female suspect in the case, Serenity Hagan, was found in Memphis and had to be extradited back.
Jaquaves was found not guilty on all counts by a jury & will serve no more time in jail.
Sirenity took a negotiated plea last year and will serve life in prison with the possibility of parole. As part of that plea, she was found guilty of felony murder and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
She received life with the possibility of parole for the felony murder charge, and 10 years to serve for the other charge. But those 10 years will run concurrently with her life sentence.
Jalijah also took a negotiated plea deal and was sentenced to 20 years in prison and 20 on probation after that.

He was found guilty of aggravated assault and armed robbery only, as part of that plea.
Part of his conditions were that he reports to a probation officer for random drug testing, cannot possess, receive, carry, transport, or attempt to purchase any firearm or ammunition during the term of his probation.
Jalijah is also required to abide by a curfew that will be set 20 years from now when he is released.
His expected release date is in 2043. At that time, he will be banished from the Atlantic Judicial Circuit, to include the counties of Liberty, McIntosh, Tattnall, Long, Bryan, and Evans Counties.
Jalijah’s expected release date is 2043. Sirenity is aleady at McRae’s Women’s Facility, with no expected release date listed.
