2 injured after 3-vehicle crash at Montgomery Cross Road and Abercorn Street
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 7/6/2026 AT 10:30 A.M.] Two people were injured and a pregnant woman was treated for pain after a crash at Montgomery Cross Road and Abercorn Street on Friday.
The Savannah Police Department responded to reports of a crash with injuries around 8:48 p.m., according to SPD. Police said the crash involved two cars and one motorcycle.
When officers got to the scene, the driver of the first vehicle had already been put into an ambulance by emergency responders, so police were not able to get a statement from that driver. Police also said that the first vehicle had a red light at the time of the crash.
According to SPD, the driver of the second vehicle was traveling eastbound on Montgomery Cross Road. Police said the second vehicle was going through a green light when the first vehicle struck the center rear passenger side.
On impact, the second vehicle spun into the path of the third vehicle, causing the front of the third vehicle to collide with the front passenger side of the second vehicle.
SPD said they watched video footage of the crash, which clearly showed the the first vehicle collide with the second, causing the second vehicle to rotate into the path of the third.
The driver of the first vehicle was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
A pregnant passenger from the third vehicle complained of abdominal pain and was treated at the scene by EMS.
Police issued three citations to the driver of the third vehicle, including failure to maintain required motor vehicle insurance, driving without a valid driver’s license and child safety restraint requirement.

Authorities have closed the eastbound lanes of Montgomery Cross Road at the intersection, while two westbound lanes are also blocked.
WTOC crews at the scene observed two sedans and a motorcycle in the area, though officials have not confirmed how the vehicles are involved or released details about the incident.
The cause of the response and whether anyone was injured have not been confirmed.
