2 dead, 2 injured after overnight downtown Savannah shooting

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 7/13/2026 AT 1 p.m.] The Chatham County Coroner said he is investigating a death that occurred in Frazier Homes.

35-year-old Charles Frazier was pronounced dead at the scene and was shot at least one time, according to Chatham County Coroner David Campbell.

31-year-year-old Shainairie Jones was pronounced dead at a local hospital on July 12. The coroner said the victim was shot at least one time.

Autopsies have been scheduled for both deaths, officials said no further information is available.

[UPDATE 7/13/2026 AT 10 a.m.] A second person died following a shooting near Frazier Homes in downtown Savannah, confirmed Savannah Police on Monday morning.

[ORIGINAL STORY] One person is dead and three others were injured after a shooting in downtown Savannah July 9.

Around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, SPD officers responded to a ShotSpotter call on the 1000 block of W. Broad Ct. near Frazier Homes.

Officers found four adults with gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the three others were taken to a hospital for treatment.

One victim is in critical condition, while two have non-life-threatening injuries.

The police department’s investigation is in its early phases, but we are told officers believe this was a targeted attack. WTOC crews spoke with some people Friday afternoon and they said they weren’t going to comment on what happened.
