by WTOC Staff, Megan Leroy

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The 19th Annual Savannah book Festival took place in the historic district Saturday.

Telfair Square was filled with book lovers celebrating both local and nationally recognized authors. The festival offered authior panels, book signings, food trucks and a pop-up book store where readers could purchase books from a variety of generes.

“It’s free, you can purchase your author’s books, they have author signings, and the locals love it. We have people who have been here from Minnesota, Saint Paul, Denver, New York, Philly, Pittsburg, everyone’s escaping the bitter cold up there and coming down to our beautiful Savannah,” said Karen Morris and Nancy Petronchak, book festival volunteers.

Saturday was the last day of the free festival, but tickets are still avaliable for the closing address Sunday.

You can find those tickets at savannahbookfestival.org.
