19-year-old woman shot in arm in Liberty Co.

LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - A 19-year-old woman was injured after an early morning shooting in Liberty County.

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the 100 block of West Pine Street just before 5 a.m. Sunday.

Officials say a 19-year-old woman was walking home when three men began verbally harassing her. After ignoring the men, the victim said multiple rounds were discharged in her direction, and she was shot in the arm.

Deputies say the victim’s father heard the commotion, came outside and began firing at the men who left the scene.

The woman was taken to the hospital and treated for her injury.

It is unknown if any of the men were injured in the gunfire.
