‘That is NOT apple juice’: South Fulton police remind parents to double-check lunch box drinks

by Atlanta First News staff

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — As it turns out, a South Fulton parent didn’t accidentally pack a canned martini in their child’s lunchbox, the city’s police department said.

On Wednesday, police shared a picture showing a Cutwater Lemon Drop Martini sitting alongside a Doritos bag in a lunchbox.

“Why are we getting reports of juice boxes sitting next to… Cutwater margaritas??" the original post said. “That is NOT Capri Sun. That is NOT Apple Juice. That is a whole ‘Parent had a long night’ starter pack.”

But on Friday, the department said the incident didn’t happen at Fulton County Schools.

“The real takeaway here is awareness,” the new comment under the post said. “Across the country, there’s growing concern about alcoholic drinks being packaged to look like non-alcoholic ones and even being placed near them in stores, which can lead to honest mix-ups.”

Cutwater Lemon Drop Martinis are 11% alcohol by volume.
