‘Drive by shooting’ over weekend leaves home with half a dozen bullet holes, says ECSO

EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office is clearing up several questions about a “drive by shooting” over the weekend.

Deputies said they went to a home on Little McCall Road in Springfield just after midnight on Monday that had at least a half dozen bullet holes in it.

After investigating, law enforcement concluded someone in a white pickup truck in the area was either shooting at deer or shooting at the street signs, which caused several bullets to hit a home. Law enforcement said the street sign also had bullet holes in it.

Effingham County Sheriff’s Office detectives said they do not believe this was a targeted situation or that there’s any danger to the community. No one was injured and the driver and make/model of the truck have not been identified yet.

If anyone has any information on this situation, call the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office at 912-754-3449.
